Product Care

• Not Suitable for the dishwasher. Wipe boards with a damp cloth and use the Tung oil occasionally to enhance the protect layer.
• The Skottsberg Wood Works wooden boards were treated with two coatings of thinned or non-diluted Tung oil at the sawmill.
• This Tung oil has been deeply absorbed into the wood, so you can use the serving boards immediately.
• Tung oil is a drying oil that soaks into the wood. Tung oil does not discolour the wood, is food safe, and is water repellent after drying. That makes Tung oil the best natural finish in existence for wood. It makes your wood livelier and gives it a very nice matt to silky gloss finish.

Additional Notes

Please note that these Longan serving boards are unique, no two serving boards will be the same. Each may have a minimal deviation in size or colour.

The SKOTTSBERG® Tung oil is also available separately so that you can properly maintain the serving board for a lifetime of use.

If you would like to give your serving board an extra protective layer after frequent use, then you can! Lightly sand the surface, make it completely dust-free and rub the Tung oil onto the board with a lint-free cloth. After about fifteen minutes, remove the excess oil and repeat this again after an hour. The board will need between a few hours to a maximum of a day to dry completely. Tung oil is best stored in a dark place and make sure to always close the bottle tightly. Oxygen causes the oil to dry out.
